Pimping out the old Bass Tracker
I fish out of a 1984 Bass Tracker Tournament TX with a 2006 (bought new in 2008)Mercury 50 hp ELPTO. It's a good old boat. It doesn't leak (much). It will run a little over 30 mph with just me and a tournament load. That is slow enough to give me time to dodge the stumps on Lakes Talquin and Seminole.
I put a 55# Minn Kota Maxxum digital trolling motor on it. It is hard to imagine that it came with a 28# Minn Kota.
The boat came with a Humminbird Super 60 flasher. It now has a Humminbird 788 CI at the bow Interlinked with a 798 CI SI at the console. Both Humminbirds have a Navionics Premium chip.
I added a timer to the livewell and have not had a dead fish yet. The best thing I added was a Dual Pro 2 bank on-board charger. I just back the boat in the driveway, plug the charger in, and forget about it.
I keep getting the "I wants" for a glass boat, but this old boat fishes better than I do so I am going to hang onto it until I just can't stand it any more.
